Tenant and Landlord Law Florida outlines the rules and regulations that have to be followed by tenants and landlords. The rights and responsibilities of both tenants and landlords are specified. The tenant has to strictly adhere to the conditions mentioned. According to Tenant and Landlord Law Florida , the tenant must keep the rental unit clean. He must not damage any property. The tenant must follow rules regarding pets, noise restrictions, cleaning requirements, parking, garbage disposal and sub-letting. He has to adhere to all the terms and conditions in the lease agreement. He must pay rent on time and must allow the owner to enter the apartment in response to emergencies.
Tenant and Landlord Law Florida does not allow discrimination of any sort based on color, race, marital status, disability, age or sex. The landlord does not have the right to forcibly remove a tenant from the rental property. He may instead bring an action for possession in court. Landlord-tenant disputes are summary procedures under Florida Law and should receive an early trial date. It is also mandatory for the landlord to provide locks and keys. He must also provide hot water, clean and safe condition of common areas. He must all provide a smoke detector.
It is binding on the tenant to comply with all health and housing codes. He must keep the dwelling clean. He must keep all plumbing fixtures in reasonably good condition; he must take care of garbage disposal. He must not deface the property in any way.
